This week's challenge over at The Pink Elephant Blog is to use this sketch. This is my take on it. I used (for the first time) my Fiskars Embossing Plates on the background. I have had them for eons and never used them......until now. I wasn't (pardon the pun) impressed. I am contemplating the purchase of a Cuttlebug. There are some way cute embossing folders for it. I like cute :) Anyway, after embossing the cardstock I lightly sanded the raised bits. I also used my MM distress tool on the card edges. I love me some distress....on cards anyway ;) Thanks for looking!!
Cardstock: Imagine That!, Pattern Paper: We R Memory Keepers, Stickers: Martha Stewart Fabric Stickers, Lettering: Cricut Plantin School Days Cart., Ink: ColorBox "Chestnut Roan" Chalk Ink, Mini Brads: MM, Ribbon: American Crafts
Beautiful card - love those papers

What a beautiful card. Love the Martha Stewart Fabric embellishments...they look awesome on your presentation for this sketch. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Dawn - I don't know whether you used a ball tool on the Fisker's plates or not, but I have them and it's hard to get a good finish with the tool alone.
ReplyDeleteI haven't used mine for ages (the cuttlebug folders are just so much better) but last time I did use them I sprayed my paper with Paper glide and then used my Wizard machine to do the embossing. Still not as deep embossing as the cuttlebug folders but pretty good.
Your card is great - love that 4U bit. Really cool.

ReplyDeleteGreat card Dawn! Thanks for joining us again this week at TPE!
ReplyDeleteBTW...if you get a Cuttlebug, you can run your Fiskars plates through that and get a whole lot better results!! I think I have the recipe for using the Fiskars plates in your CB in the TPE Tip Room!
