So I have been neglecting my blog again...sorry about that. Please take this free file as a form of apology. I hope you like her. If you take one of my files, be sure to leave me a comment :) I really love reading them. Also, if you create anything using my files please show me! I would love to see what you come up with. Use them on handmade cards, coloring pages, craft projects, etc. If you know anyone that might like my files, send them a link to my blog to come and get 'em.
Sorry it's a day late folks. I attempted drawing and painting a face but that wasn't nearly as fun as breating the background. I used a tealight candle to create a resist effect on my gesso. Then went over it with acrylic paint, oil pastels and ink. I hope you enjoy watching.
I was inspired by a page in my art journal and recreated it here on a round canvas.
On Thursday! My art was sparked on a canvas today instead of my art journal. I managed to edit and upload my video to YouTube and then forgot to hit the publish button. Who does that? Me apparently. Anyways, here is the finished artwork and video. I hope you like it. I had fun creating it. Owls are a favorite of mine.
Here is my latest painting. I used a wood panel and acrylic paint for this little lady. I think she turned out ADORABLE! I hope to make a series of these with different flowers. I really enjoyed creating this one. It's everything I love, cute, cute, cute and vibrant colors!!
This was the original sketch where the idea was born :)
Now on to my exciting news! I am the new artist at ByLoriDesigns
I am so blessed to have been asked to join such a fabulous site! Lori Boyd is the owner, designer, and such a great person. Thank you Lori for this opportunity. Her design team created such beautiful and cards using my images. It's so awesome to see these files brought to life in full color. I hope you will go on over and check things out. Maybe tell a friend ;)
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you have a great weekend!
Hello Everyone! I sure hope you are having a great day. It's raining here in Ohio which makes for a good drawing on the computer day. I created this little dragon today. Do you like him? I think he's cute. If you take my files, be sure to leave a comment for me. They are like creating food for me ;) Also if you create anything using this file, or any of my others, be sure to show me. I love to see them in action. My files are free for personal use only. Thanks for stopping by and please tell a friend to come on over.
It's Wednesday and that means....ART SPARK WEDNESDAY! YAY!
I will admit I took a Wednesday or two off, but I finally edited this video and got it to upload! It runs longer than any of the others. It's just under 35 minutes. I hope that isn't terribly long for ya. I had fun making this one and hope you enjoy it :)
UPDATE 4/14/14- I figured out why Google was making the background a pale gray. Apparently, Google photos is set to enhance photos as the default. I turned it to off and I think that did the trick. To any of you that have downloaded these files, you may want to delete them and download them again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
***UPDATE: For some reason when I upload these files to blogger, they are turning the background a pale gray color that is visible when printed. I am trying to figure out why. Anyone have any idea? Sorry for the inconvienence.***
*Free for personal use only. I'M BACK! Boy have I been an absent blogger this week huh? To make up for that I have a few flowers for you. As always if you take one of my files, please leave me a comment. If you create anything using my files be sure to show me. Finally, if you know of anyone that might want one or more of my files, send 'em on over to my blog to do so. I sure would appreciate it :D
This one is the same as the one above but without the circles in the middle.
I didn't have time to create a digital file today. I am busy putting together a birthday party for my youngest daughter. She turns 13 today!! I can't believe my baby is a teenager already. Where does the time go? I will be back next week with a new free digi. I hope you are having a great week!!
I found this graphic @: (not entirely sure she created it, but in case she did...) http://leanadelle.wordpress.com
Hello Everyone!
Here is today's free digital file. I hope you like Mouse Cute lol. Remember, if you take one of my files, please leave me a comment. I also love seeing my digital files in action, so if you create something using one (or many ;) please show me.
Here is this week's Art Spark Wednesday. I started the background with some photo transfer and then added some stencil numbers and the surround.
Then I dripped some black acrylic paint, and then white acrylic paint.
Here is the video:
Added some texture with bubble wrap and some tape backing.
I added the flowers by cutting out the petal shapes from book text and then painted over them with purple acrylic paint.
I added a quote with some tiny letter stickers. It says "Breathe in inspiration and trust yourself. The answer is yes you can." Then I finished it off with a tag stamped with the date.
I started out gessoing my pages and then adding red, orange and yellow with my hands. The bottom needed to be lightened up a little so I threw a little white in there while the other paint was still wet.
I am trying to learn to write with a script paintbrush. It's harder than I thought. Practice, practice, practice. Oh, I also used some washi tape that I have had hanging around forever. Thanks for taking a look.
I hope you enjoy today's digi. Remember, if you take one of my files, please leave me a comment. These digital files make fantastic coloring pages. My 12 year old daughter loves them. If you create something with my digis, please leave me a link in the comments section so I can come check it out.
I hope your day is going well. We had such nice temperatures here in Ohio the last few days. It was great to feel the sun warm on my skin and not have to wear a heavy coat for a change. Enough about the weather though. Here is my latest Art Spark Wednesday video. You won't believe where this page started from it's finished product. WHEW! I hope you enjoying watching!
Hello everyone! Here is today's free digital file. I hope you like her. If you take one of my files, please leave me a comment and let me know you were here. If you use of my files, be sure to send me a link so I can come see. Thanks for hopping by....heh, see what I did there? A bunny digi....hopping....I crack myself up!
I bought my kids a new box of Crayola Crayons the other day. Getting a whiff of new crayons took me right back to elementary school. I love the smell.
So, I told my 12 year old daughter that when I was a kid my mom would grate up some old crayons between 2 sheets of waxed paper and iron it just long enough to melt the shavings. Then we would cut them down to whatever size we wanted and TADA you had a pretty bookmark. So, that is what we tried with our old crayons, and here are the results. My daughter used a crayon sharpener to shave her crayons and I used a serrated knife. The knife was a lot faster. Oh and put down some paper towels under and over your waxed paper when you iron it. In case any seeps out. You want to protect your iron and your work space. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you give this a try.
Dawn here again with the next installment of Art Spark Wednesday! I hope you enjoy this week's video. Here are some snapshots of my finished pages. Look at the paint splatter goodness:
Did you think I forgot to post today's file? Nope! It just took me all day to come up with something to share. I must draw more during the week. Anyway, I hope you like it. I named him/her Kitty Meow.....
If you take my file, please leave me a comment. I love reading them. Also, if you have any requests please leave them in the comments section. I will try to get to them all. Thanks for stopping by.
Welcome to this week's Art Spark Wednesday. I had fun playing with some homemade spray inks. Some worked, some didn't. I think I learn more from what doesn't work than what does. Which reminds me of something Donna Downey said in one or two of her Inspiration Wednesday videos on YouTube (look her up if you haven't already, you won't regret it). She taught me to go with those "what if..." moments. What is a what if moment? Well, let's say you're in the middle of creating a masterpiece and something in your brain says.....what if.....? (what if I paint this sky orange, what if I poke holes in my canvas, etc). By all means try it! You could end up with something really cool and unexpected. You could also end up with a mess that makes you slap your forehead and ask "what was I thinking. Either way you are learning something. And learn I did. I won't lie, I had some forehead slapping moments.....
I cut 2" paper squares from patterned paper and adhered them to my pages with Aleene's Clear Tacky Glue. That glue holds really well by the way. Then I went through my stash and found chipboard, diecuts, paper flowers and added them to my 2" squares.
Then I sprayed, painted, drew, slung and anything else to help things along.
Here is the video:
I added the quote and the bicycle diecut and VIOLA!
Thanks for stopping by to have a look. I hope this Wednesday finds you creating.
